The Definition of Healthy

I thought I should address this right before I post my recipe for something with cheese sauce on my blog. You might be thinking, "OMG! Cheese sauce is so bad for you. It's a bunch of fat." Cheese sauce isn't bad for you. Your body needs fat. Cheese is a great source of protein and fat that your body needs. So is the milk and cream that is put in the sauce. And, you'll discover that there's a tablespoon of butter. For the whole recipe. If you think about it, each person ends up with about a 1/4 tsp of butter on their plate. That's only a fourth or less of how much butter the average american puts on their toast.

Healthy basically means that you eat right, exercise, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You can't cut out all fat and carbs and sugars, because you'll be eating practically nothing. You also have to have 5-9 servings of veggies AND fruits every day. Fats like oils, fish, and avocados are the good fats that give your body many nutrients. Carbs, as long as they processed as little as possible, are a great energy booster. Sugars can be found in all kinds of fruits and vegetables. So, if you see that I'm adding a quarter cup of olive oil or something, don't think it's unhealthy. It's not. It's good for you.
